The opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Legal Trainee/Senior Legal Trainee to join our Group Legal team in Helsinki. This is an opportunity for a more senior law student who wants to develop practical in-house legal skills in an international business environment and work alongside experienced legal professionals across the Nordics and North America.

You will support the Legal team in its day-to-day work and contribute to a broad range of legal matters and business projects. The role combines legal research and drafting with practical contract, corporate and legal operations work. You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and gain insight into how an international in-house legal function enables business while managing legal risks.

What you will do

· Assist the company’s lawyers with legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, corporate materials and internal guidance.

· Support commercial contracting and other day-to-day legal matters involving customers, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders.

· Assist with corporate governance, company law and legal entity administration matters.

· Contribute to business projects and cross-functional initiatives together with teams such as Sales, IT, Finance, HR and Business development.

· Support strategic projects, where relevant.

· Help maintain and develop the Legal team’s templates, playbooks, document repositories and legal knowledge materials.

· Coordinate matters and follow-ups efficiently, ensuring that documentation is complete, accurate and easy to find.

· Take on broader responsibilities as your experience and confidence grow.

What we are looking for

· You are a senior-level law student at a Finnish university, preferably in the later stage of your studies.

· You have a strong interest in commercial law, contract law, company law and the work of an international in-house legal team.

· You preferably have previous relevant experience from another in-house legal position, or from a law firm as an associate trainee or in a comparable legal trainee role with more independent approach.

· Experience in M&A-related tasks, corporate transactions or due diligence is considered an advantage.

· Depending on your interests and experience, you may also support matters relating to data protection and AI.

· You are able to analyse legal questions carefully and translate your findings into clear, practical and business-oriented advice.

· You have excellent written and spoken English and Finnish.

· You work in a structured, accurate and proactive manner, and are comfortable managing several assignments at the same time.

· You are collaborative, curious and willing to learn, while also taking ownership of your work.

· You take initiative, drive your tasks forward independently and ensure the work gets done.

· A fixed-term 12-month part-time position (subject of negotiation) ideally three to four days a week, with flexible working hours and the possibility of extension.

We work in a hybrid model, combining collaboration at our Helsinki office with the possibility to work remotely in accordance with our company practices. As this role is designed to support learning, collaboration and mentoring, Legal team prefers regular presence at the office and believes the best trainee experience is gained through working closely together with colleagues in person.
