Internal Communications Manager
Location: United Kingdom or Helsinki, Finland
Reporting to: Global Marketing & Communications Director
Job role and purpose:
We are looking for a full-time Internal Communications Manager to join our Marketing & Communications team. In this role, you will shape and drive our internal communications—helping to connect people, align around our priorities, and keep everyone informed and engaged. You will lead the planning, development, and execution of communication initiatives that support our business goals and strengthen the employee experience. Acting as a trusted partner to leadership and key stakeholders, you’ll turn business priorities into clear, relevant, and engaging messages. You’ll also take a central role in managing the development of our new intranet platform, ensuring it becomes a valuable and user-friendly hub for our people.
Main responsibilities & tasks:
Internal Communication Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement the internal communications strategy aligned with company goals
Ensure consistent, clear, and timely messaging across all channels and markets
Plan and deliver global internal communications in collaboration with the Communications Director
Plan and create and publish newsletters, leadership messages, and campaign content
Coordinate cross-functional employee communications and maintain a global communications calendar
Drive internal campaigns that enhance employee engagement and alignment, working closely with HR
Project Management
Lead internal and corporate communications projects from planning to delivery
Manage timelines, stakeholders, content input, approvals, and execution
Support key initiatives such as annual reports, leadership events, training days, and global campaigns
Ensure alignment, structure, and timely delivery across complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Content & Editorial Management
Gather, edit, and refine digital content from multiple teams and stakeholders
Translate complex input into clear, engaging, employee-friendly communication
Ensure consistency in tone, style, branding, and messaging
Maintain content libraries, templates, and communication materials
Leadership Communication
Support senior leaders in preparing and coordinating communication materials
Draft and produce presentations, speeches, and company updates based on agreed messaging
Ensure leadership communications are clear, consistent, and delivered effectively across channels
Intranet Ownership & Development
Own and manage the company intranet as a global communication platform
Improve structure, usability, governance, and content quality
Ensure content is accurate, relevant, and up to date
Manage the intranet content calendar and support content owners
Monitor engagement and continuously optimize based on insights
Brand Aligned Design & Presentation Support
Create high-quality, brand-aligned communication materials (presentations, intranet content, event assets)
Ensure visual consistency and professional standards across all materials
Enhance communication effectiveness through clear, engaging design
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years’ experience in internal, employee, or corporate communications
Strong project management experience, ideally in fast-paced, international or matrix organizations
Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to produce clear and effective communications.
Excellent writing, editing, and content management skills with strong storytelling ability and attention to detail
Experience leveraging AI for content generation, personalization, and workflow automation while maintaining editorial quality and brand integrity
Experience managing content calendars, governance processes, and approval workflows
Experience in creating high-quality presentations and visual communication materials; being skilled in PowerPoint, Canva, and InDesign is a requirement.
Experience with SharePoint or similar intranet/content management platforms; proven intranet ownership/management is a plus
Strong editorial judgment with the ability to simplify complex information into clear, engaging content
Solid visual judgment and ability to produce brand-aligned materials
Highly organized, proactive, and delivery-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across functions and geographies
Structured, hands-on, and able to bring clarity to ambiguity
